vegas, baby.

Last month I lived it up in Vegas with the best friends a girl could ask for. Between the company, the food, and the cocktails, great fun was had — even despite the challenging travel situation caused by the government shutdown.

Sin City hasn’t disappointed me yet!

At the Bellagio to watch the fountains after sharing an amazing meal at Beauty & Essex.

A little bit of gambling was accomplished our first day, the proceeds of which went toward treating myself to a new necklace and a spa visit. We roved the Strip over the next two days, visiting the Cosmopolitan, Caesar’s, Planet Hollywood, the Paris, the Bellagio, the Venetian, and the Flamingo.

The view on our way to see the fountains for a second time; little did we know that the show doesn’t start until much later in the day. We also missed out seeing the Conservatory, as they were in the midst of setting up for Christmas. What was set up looked amazing already!

Kim and I also made a trip to the Sphere to see The Wizard of Oz. It was a thrilling experience, and also gave me the worst motion sickness in recent memory. Experiencing the tornado scene alone was worth it, though. I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in ages. I loved the special and practical effects scattered throughout the show. My second favorite part was when our heroes reached the Emerald City, which was absolutely gorgeous. It really felt like being in Oz. The scenery was something else; so detailed and real.

I’m already looking forward to our next Vegas trip, hopefully sometime next year. Special thanks to my dad for putting us up. The resort he picked out for our stay was super comfy and nice — far enough away from the Strip to be quiet, but close enough to be convenient.
